A simple breakfast and everyone loves!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 t cinnamon

  • 1 3/4 cups milk

  • 6 tbsp oil

  • 2 large eggs

Directions

  • Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add the wet ingredients. Mix until well-blended and allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Heat the waffle iron and spray with cooking spray if necessary. (Some recipes suggest it, but my waffle iron never needs it.)
  • Ladle 1 cup of the batter into the center of the waffle iron and spread it out slightly. Close the waffle iron. The indicator light will be red.
  • Once the light turns green, check the waffle for doneness. It should be golden brown.
  • Remove the waffle carefully and serve immediately. Delicious topping options include syrup, butter, berries, or whipped cream.

Notes

  • This is another breakfast that children can carefully help make.
  • Leftover waffles freeze well in a zip bag and can be heated in the toaster.
